Apparently, anti-gay folks won’t give up any time soon. In Washington, Referendum 71 is on the ballot for November. The referendum seeks to overturn Senate Bill 5688 which grants state registered domestic partners in the State of Washington all rights, responsibilities, and obligations granted by or imposed by state law on married couples. The anti-gay measure was launched by Washington Values Alliance.
Election officials in that state were closely scrutinizing the signatures collected to approve the ballot measure. In the aftermath, the Washington Values Alliance has filed suit to life the state’s contribution limit and keep the identities of donors secret.
