Chief Justice Won’t Put Hold on Gay Marriage Law in Washington D.C.

In another victory for same-sex couples, Chief Justice John Roberts rejected a request made by opponents of gay marriage to put a hold on the new law allowing same-sex couples to marry in Washington, D.C. The law takes effect on Wednesday.

Per usual, opponents of gay marriage argued for a public referendum before the law takes effect. I’m sure this won’t be the end of the fight.
