All across the country, people wore purple today as a way to support gay teens. The country is in a heightened state of awareness in the aftermath of the suicides of 5 teens who were bullied for being — or perceived to be — gay.
I’m glad this society is finally beginning to take this epidemic seriously. It’s time for thoughtful and candid discussions, education and brainstorming. Together, we can eradicate gay bullying.

It’s good that people are now taking action to minimize the gay bullying, or any kind of bullying for that matter.
It’s long overdue, that’s for sure.
I have son who is a gay and is only 15 years old. He and his friends of the same age did wear purple as support to this event. Way to go!

I hope gays will have the equal rights to live without discrimination.
I just hope we get to see it in our lifetime. Why is it so hard for people to accept gays for just being human beings?
People should realize that being a gay is not a sin and will never be a sin. Why can’t we avoid discrimination? They are just the same as all of us, created by God. They deserve an environment that treats them normally. I support the gay community and I totally admire them.
