Today is St. Valentine’s Day and I want to wish everyone plenty of love and happiness. In the gay community, it’s a perfect day to celebrate the accomplishments of those who so tirelessly worked to make same-sex marriage a reality. It’s a great time to tip your hat to those who continue to fight for marriage equality in every state. It’s also a good idea to tell your partner you love her or him. (Cards and flowers won’t hurt, either).
I posted some tips on my other blog from the ‘experts’ on how to keep your marriage working. The articles I found are written for straight couples but the advice applies across the board. Feel free to read that post if you are so inclined.
Although it’s not always easy for gay and lesbian couples, I would like everyone to celebrate the fact that the world has changed enormously and it continues to change. On this Valentine’s Day, stand up and be proud. Love your partner and love yourself.
Most of all, be happy.
