Delaware Governor Signs Civil Union Bill

For same-sex couples residing in the State of Delaware, Wednesday was a day worth celebrating as Governor Jack Markell signed the State’s civil union bill into law.

Lesbian and gay couples will have specific legal protections beginning on January 1, 2012.

Read the full text of AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 13 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO CIVIL UNIONS.

Delaware is now the 8th state to recognize civil unions or domestic partnerships for same-sex couples.
